The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) created Money Smart, and more recently, Money Smart for Young Adults to help those outside the financial mainstream enhance their money skills and create positive banking relationships. The Money Smart curriculum helps individuals build financial knowledge, develop financial confidence, and use banking services effectively. Over 685,000 copies have been ordered, with almost 1.5 million consumers receiving training.
Money Smart is available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, and Russian. A version for the visually impaired is also available. Money smart for Young Adults is available in English and Spanish. The Computer-based Instruction (CBI) version enables individuals to complete Money Smart at their own pace on a computer in English or Spanish. The CBI is available online or can be ordered on CD-ROM.

Available in both online versions and print with CD-ROM, Practical Money Skills for Life is targeted at adults and youths, consumers and educators. Building Wealth (BW) is a personal finance education resource for schools, nonprofit community organizations, financial services providers and consumers to help young people, adult consumers, families and others develop a plan for building personal wealth. BW presents an overview of personal wealth-building strategies that includes setting financial goals, budgeting, saving and investing, managing debt, and understanding credit reports and credit scores.
